Economic and social responsibility

Economic and social responsibility

Economic and social responsibility means that the biorefinery will bring benefits to our well-being. After its completion, the mill will provide over 200 permanent jobs and the plant will provide more than 1 000 new jobs in the wood supply chain. In addition, the project employs approximately 1 000 people during the construction period.

The indirect economic impact of the project on Kainuu region is considerable. Tax revenues and its multiplicative economical effects will bring approximately 200 million euros to the region.

The project is undoubtedly important to the local forest owners and entrepreneurs in the wood supply chain.

The different elements of responsibility support each other seamlessly. Once the ecologically responsible products gain success in the market, economic prosperity are created around them and eventually enable the social responsibilities to be carried out.
